Smithfield Office Provides Free Education and Foreclosure Prevention Counseling to Local Homeowners Facing Hardship
“People are finding themselves in a very tough position in life, looking at how they can keep what they have worked so hard for. There are many families in Smithfield and Johnston County that are having trouble making their mortgage payments,” said Daniel Evans, Jr., Mayor of Smithfield. RADA brings valuable resources to address what has become a very serious issue. The Town of Smithfield is thankful for RADA’s efforts here, we support them, and we embrace their partnership.”
RADA has assisted hundreds of homeowners since 2010. Most of those who have been helped have received a workout that allowed them to remain in their homes. Others have been able to avoid foreclosure and gracefully leave their homes through a short sale or deed-in-lieu of foreclosure.
At the new Smithfield office, borrowers can meet directly with dedicated, compassionate housing counselors to discuss their mortgage situation. These one-on-one meetings will help homeowners better understand the foreclosure prevention options available and will allow RADA’s housing counselors to assist the homeowners in working with their lender to resolve their mortgage situation.
Counseling at RADA’s Smithfield Consumer Counseling and Mortgage Help Center office is available by appointment only. Homeowners wishing to schedule a visit should call (919) 807-8400.
